Joshua Viola is a Colorado Book Award winner and Splatterpunk Award nominee. He is the co-author of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - The Dead Shall Rise with Angie Hodapp, and the co-author of the Denver Moon series with Warren Hammond. He edited the Denver Post #1 bestselling horror anthology, Nightmares Unhinged, and co-edited Cyber World—named one of the best science fiction anthologies of 2016 by Barnes & Noble. He is the co-author of the comic book slasher series True Believers with Stephen Graham Jones, which features official cameos by Jamie Lee Curtis, R.L. Stine, Matt Heafy, GWAR, Devon Sawa, and more. In film, he has produced films like Shrine of Abominations, Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon, Aliens Expanded, TerrorBytes, Shelby Oaks, and most recently with Slash of Guns N' Roses on Steven Kostanski's Deathstalker reboot starring Daniel Bernhardt (The Matrix, John Wick). In video games, he worked on Pirates of the Caribbean: Call of the Kraken, Unioverse, The Smurfs, and TARGET: Terror. In 2024, he formed it Bot Media with Klayton (Celldweller) and partnered with Canadian film studio Raven Banner Entertainment and FreakZone Games. He is the owner and chief editor of Hex Publishers. He lives in Denver, Colorado, with his husband and son.
